Information about MP3 Audio Clips
There have been a great controversy over the internet audio format MPEG Layer3, otherwise know as MP3. This is a file format which stores audio files on a computer in such a way that the file size is relatively small, but the song sounds almost identical to CD quality. The Rip Off does not condone the illegal use and trading of copywritten songs over the internet in MP3 format. The Rip Off uses very low quality MP3 sound clips, which are 1/4th the quality of a CD. The Rip Off's sound clips are also 30 seconds in duration, begin with a 2 second fade in, and end with a 2 second fade out. Using this style of compression insures against The Rip Off from breaking any state or federal laws, and allows viewers to preview songs before making a purchase.
