New Poll Online, and Major Page Errors Fixed |
- The Freq (webmaster, techno guy)
The first Quiz Poll is over, and the outcome was Mustard Plug with 75%, and The Verve Pipe with 25% (4 total votes). Please, when you stop in, take the time to listen to the songs in the Poll and vote.
The new Quiz Poll is online. This week, we put the Ah Ha version of Take On Me up against the Reel Big Fish remake. Many will remember the Reel Big Fish version from the movie BASEket Ball, created and starring Tray Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park.
Also, anyone who was using Internet Explorer 5 may have noticed a major page rendering problem, where the text in this section, as well as many of the pages, would draw in a thin, long column. This problem has been fixed, hopefully. |
The Rip Off Poll |
- The Freq (webmaster, techno guy)
The Rip Off is holding a Quiz Poll. Currently, and maybe for the next few months, the poll will be populated with the question "Which is better, the origional, or the remake?". We will place two hit songs, one being the origional, and the second being the remake. The current groups facing off are The Verve Pipe and Mustard Plug, with the song "Freshman". Have fun. |
Problems, Problems, Problems... |
- The Freq (webmaster, techno guy)
Sorry for all of the problems that have been popping up here. Like most sites on the internet, errors will find their way in. If you have been having problems with the guestbook, please do not email The Rip Off. Our guestbook is handled by a third party service, and we are not responcable with it's problems.
Secondly, there are many MP3s in the clips section that are not uploaded yet. These should be ready before the end of the week. Here is a tip. If an album in our clips section does not have any MP3s yet, look for a link near the CD cover image that should read "Purchace this CD". That will take you to Amazon.com, and you can listen to their clips.
We are still trying to get this site up and running, so bare with us. Thank you for your time. |
The Rip Off Revamped |
- The Freq (webmaster, techno guy)
Well, The Rip Off has been given a new look and feel. We now have a sort of brushed metal look. Navigation has also been reworked, as to make your viewing of our site a more easy and pleasurable one. |
Introduction |
- Mike Wilkerson (owner of The Rip Off)
I guess, either I sent you the link to my site, or you stumbled across it by your own means. First of all, let me say thank you for visiting "The Rip Off". Secondly, I guess I should explain what we are all about. To make it short, I have been trying to put out a magazine in print for ever and couldn't get that going, so I got the brite idea to put The Rip Off online. I reacently met this guy who does some web design, who's website can be found here, and he said he could make me a website that would blow my mind. All in all, he wasn't joking, and The Rip Off was born.
We will have interviews with artist's in every genra of music as well as do reviews and some previews of their music. There will be live chats with artistsas well. We are planning some big things for The Rip Off, so brace yourself and enjoy the ride.
Don't forget the email us or to sign our guestbook, which links to both can be found at the top of almost every page on our site. Also, on our index page, you can sign up to get out weekly newsletter, "Ripped Off The Press", through email, informing you what is new on The Rip Off. |
